Goromaru became a rugby world cup sensation after an unexpected victory in a game against South Africa’s twice winning rugby World Cup champions, the Springboks.

As a result of his outstanding performance at the World Cup last year, he signed a contract with Rugby Club Toulonais (RCT), the three-time winners of the European Champions Cup and one of the best clubs in the French Championship.

His experience in the black and reds of Toulon was, however, disappointing with only 5 appearances out of 30 in all seasons. As a result of the strong competition within the team and his desire to return home to Japan, both Mr. Goromaru and the club agreed on terminating his contract.

The Japanese star is coming home to join his former Japanese club, Yamaha Jubilo in Tokyo. There are hopes for greater sporting feats from the rugby star especially with the upcoming Rugby World Cup to be hosted by Japan in 2019.
